It seems Blackpool's North Pier is a hive of activity this time of year with the roosting of starlings. Millions of them appear almost out of the blue and fly around the sea front before settling on the beach and then finally back under the pier.
This image is a contrast to the one I blogged at the start of the week (
Starlings) and has a moodier feel to it with the black and white really bringing out the large swarm of birds.
Let me know what you think of this photo.
Fantastic photo! Did you have to wait long for the Starlings to start their display?
ReplyDeleteHi Jeff, It was quite bizarre to be honest! I waited between 4-5pm as I had been told by some work men this is when they arrive but it varied between 3-5 each day. Sometimes it was for an hour other days it was a quick ten minute thing - I guess it depends on the weather. Thanks for the comment!
ReplyDeleteGreat photo, thanks of putting it on. Liz
